Anyone know what this is?

Dry rock seeded with a few pieces of live. Tank is cycling, diatoms showing up but i spotted something growing out of one of the dry rock pieces and I am just surprised something would be showing a month into the cycle. It is my first Salwater tank so I am paranoid about my water and I am just curious what it is thanks!

No, i poked it with a net handle and it felt kinda brittle almost like a fake plastic plant would feel.

Is it apart of a larger rock structure or can the rock its on be pulled out?

Sorry need someone else to chime in on this. I only was wondering that just in case you wanted to get a closer inspection of it to see what it is. If it is something bad atleast itll be easy to take out!

Hopefully this bump will put it up where someone will see it that will be more helpful.

So the owner of the LFS says its a filter feeder worm and nothing to be worried about he says to leave it alone. He says its a good indication that my dry rock is becoming live.

Your LFS owner is probably thinking of a feather duster. However if it doesn't retract then it's not a worm.
