Hey guys just set up a new tank using my old live rock and sand that’s been dried for 3 yrs n cleaned with bleach. I added a few clowns my sister raised and 3 plugs of zooas live copepods from algae barn and everything looks good. The other day I found this guy on my glass just thought was some little reef bugs and swiped it away cleaning glass now it’s back in same spot with a buddy nearby so I studied it a bit n it first looked like a starfish. Upon further inspection it looks Likes like a blob with little legs. Just wondering if I should b concerned as last time this happened in my old tank I got those tiny tube worms/snails which I thought were neat until it took over tank tank and everything was total loss. Thanks in advance

Thanks for fast reply’s. So nothing to really be worried about? My first thought was spiders so I panicked.

Hydroids are pests. They tend to annoy corals. They are a menace! And a pain to get rid of ime. I would smack it with something to kill it dead before it splits. I wouldn’t be terribly worried but I would still get rid of it

These are common in newly setup tanks. IME they aren’t bad and go away on their own as the tank ages. I’ve set up many SW tanks and have never seen these past the 3 month mark.
