Just seen this in my tank and not sure what it is. I don’t think it’s aiptasia. It’s on the sand bed. I just got a few crabs yesterday. Could they have brought it in?

Aptasia which is highly Undesired. They multiply like mice and sting coral
To get rid of - using a syringe, inject it with either lemon juice or better yet kalkwasser powder mixed into a thin paste and injected into the center core of the aptasia and watch it melt away

Could it have been on the crabs? I know the tank the crabs came from had aptasia but i was really hoping they wouldn’t be able to hitch a ride on them.
I have the aptasia x, but I just sucked this one out with a turkey baster

aptasia spreads fast. I took tank water, boiled it, and blasted any aptasia I had using a syringe from the store used for medicine. Anywho the boiling water kills them instantly if you blast them directly, but they are sneaky and can feel changes in movement so you have to be patient when trying. Once I can tell they are dead from the blast I use the syringe and suck them up. Havent had a problem since.

^^^This^^^ I've been going after them this way for over 30 years. (Not continually:p - just when they appear!) I find it to be 100% effective. Pest invaders are one of the reasons I spend some time every day staring at my tank with a flashlight in hand - way better to get them when there is but one or two instead of the hundreds they can quickly become!!!

yes!!! It's so good! and way more natural. Me too I literally stare at my tank most of the day. I love this lifestyle. Nurturing an ecosystem in my living room. ;Cat:p
