Bought a sizable zoa rock from my lfs last week. Just found this thing slowly moving on it. Looks like a slug or something? Maybe a starfish? First time posting on this thread. Thanks in advance. Video should work

Looks like an asterina starfish to me. They're considered a pest as they can eat zoas and can multiply quite quickly. Harlequin shrimp will eat them.

Asterina starfish. Recommend removing it immediately. Some are known to eat zoas.

Some species of asterinas will eat zoas, some are harmless. It's tricky to tell them apart. You could catch it, put it in a cup of tank water, and take a clear photo for people to try to figure out which kind this is.

Do not buy a harlequin shrimp for a single asterina. They eat only starfish tube feet, so need a steady supply of starfish, hundreds of asterinas a day. If someone has a few asterinas and wants to remove them, all that's needed is to pick them out by hand.

Unless it’s dark brown/grey, it’s harmless. Personally, unless they’re numbers get out of control (easy to get them back in control), I leave them be, they’re good detritivores and algae eaters.

It's asterina star fish. They reproduce very quickly. They are considered a nuisance. They can eat corals. Manual removal works. But harlequin shrimp will eat them.
