Easier to ID aquatic things in the natural environment, not out of the water.
 
Vermitid worm. In the decades I've kept aquaria I've always thought of the as usefull and never had a problem with them bothering corals. But you will have many tell you to kill it on sight as they might have the potential to harm corals with the slime threads they make to collect food.
 
I'm not seeing a vermetid. I see what looks almost like a fleshy donut looking thing.

I see 3 spirals with what looks like a broken end where it would have started to grow away from the rock. It also looks like the species that has large tube >1/8" diameter.
 
Now I get what you were seeing. It looks very large though. Hard to tell how zoomed in the pic is.
 
Definitely can be harmful to your coral. This guy almost didn't make it and I didn't know why until I flipped him over and found this

What is it ? How did you remove it ?
 
It's a vertimid snail. Popped it off with a pair of pliers and tweezers. This is what my coral looks like now fyi!
