So I have a bubble magus curve 5 elite skimmer that uses the Sicce SK-200 skimmer. The pump seems to have crapped out(kicks my breaker and it just looks very week when it does run). I have ordered a new pump, but have a sicce syncra 1.4 pump laying around for utility uses. The needle wheel will fit, and the body fits in the skimmer, but the GPH is slightly less(367 psk, as opposed to 357 for the syncra).

Wondering if anyone has ordered or used the syncra pump in place of the PSK pump?

And before anyone asks, yes I have taken it apart and cleaned it. It will run for a while, but no where near the foam head it used to have, and the inside of the pump looked to be rusty, but the magnet was not swollen as it spins freely.

Might just be time for a better skimmer, but the budget doesn't allow it right now.

Check you tube which may cover replacement units or sicce themselves

Actually tried it out. It's the same size body, and the needle wheel impeller fits perfectly in the motor block, but....

I don't think it's as powerful. I notice I have to turn the skimmer way up to get the bubbles high enough. The SK pump draws .68 amps, and the 1.5 draws .48.

It will work until the new pumps comes in though.

Incase anyone needed to replace an SK pump for future reference.
