Hey Everyone,

So I have made a couple post recently about battling a green algae outbreak and in doing so trying to tune in my chaeto in my refugium. After testing today my phosphates were .03 and my nitrates came in 0.0. I did does some neonitro but I’m also thinking of limiting my skimmer run time. The only thing I worry about is my PH, I have been running at 8.3-8.6 for a while and been very happy with it. Any thoughts ?

Any pics last one in your build was April 9th and it look pretty good.
How many snails in your system?.
I advocate and run 1 per gallon. Seems like alot but no algae issues in 4 systems. If algae is increasing get a sea hare and work on more snails. The sea hare will remove all algea and then need to be rehomed or it will die.
Once the algae is short enough the snails will keep it under control.
My systems run 7.9-8.2 ph with no issues.

if you want to raise your nutrient levels, just set a timer to go off for 8 hours during the day when lights are on, and during feeding. Perhaps your skimmer is oversized for the setup.

I turn my skimmer and UV off when I dose bacteria for a couple of days... you may want to consider feeding a bit heavier.
