Anyone make a DIY Chiller?

God this has been such a painful read, complaining about YouTubers and Manufacturing locations, just give a problem statement, I am look for X I have a budget of Y and have a footprint/tank size/(other fun fact) of Z

In regards to your question about Wifi on a chiller, pro’s and cons, Pro’s- you don’t need to get on your hands and knees to read a screen that will likely become unreadable before the chiller dies. Cons- maybe another point of failure however most the wifi bits seem to be external add-ons likely an ESP module

Teco chillers are top notch, Italian made you can get them from Sewatec internationally and some models have the heater built in. Teco 500 would probably serve you perfectly.

In terms of budget ones, the Hailea ones are the cheaper side and generally used by a lot of LFS’ near me, along with some commercial stores.

If you want to go budget get creative get a bucket and put an IceProbe, some people have run them in Elos Sumps, although not sure how much I’d recommend this considering when the return shuts off the thing will end up submerged.

Or a used bar fridge off marketplace with a bucket inside and do the same that way.

No problem here. Lost power for 48 hours, with everything off except for some small 12Vdc Pumps, to keep the water circulating. In the basement, the Aquariums stayed cool with no powered heat source.
