I have always named my fish, in my main tank I have Bob Saget- snowflake eel
John Stamos- Chocolate chip star
Mary kate and Ashley- Occelarris clowns
Dave Coulier- Blue tang
Nibble Star- Coral Cat shark(Only way my dad would agree)
What did you guys name yours?

Piggy - Sailfin Tang
Kermit - Pseudochromis
Old blue - Blue Damsel
Benny the lawnmower Blenny
Toby - Engineer Goby
Serenity - Mandarin
The "Garys" - Nasarius snails
Harry the Hawkfish
Mr Wigley - Clownfish

We name ours after the characters on the show called The Office. We have Toby our bumblebee goby...get it, toby the goby, and hes always exiled to the annex in the show, our goby has a little burrowed out home like that haha. We have Oscar our possum wrasse. Our large very weird looking conch is named Dwight...well if you know the show, for obvious reasons. Haven't named our others yet, I am sure we will eventually.

I have Peaches and Buddy...Bangaii Cardinals, Nemo and Squirt...Clowns, Rafiki...Flame hawkfish.

LOL Of course I do
Watchman Goby: Dr. Mannhattan (The Watchmen)
The 3 pepermint shrimp: the Scampi Triplets (duh)
Red Hermit: Sabastian (Little mermaid)
Emerald Crab: Kilowog (Green Lantern)
Tuxedo Urchin: Pin (cushion)
haven't named the blue hermits or the snails....yet LOL

Yeah, me too.

My girls insisted on anything from Finding Nemo be named accordingly, then..

Purple tang..Lucky (first fish added after tank went idle from ich)
Valentini puffer..Puffy
Pygmy angel..Cheeky
Gold Dwarf Moray..Slim

Glad to see Im not the only one who likes to name their fish! I havent even bought mine yet but have names picked out:
Snowflake Eel: Frosty
Spiny Puffer: Puff Daddy or Fluffy...havent decided yet (which would you choose?)
Harlequin Tuskfish: Tigger
Majestic Angelfish: Diva
2 x Pajama Cardinal Fish: Hugh & Heffner
2 x Coral Beautys: Marilyn & Monroe

Just added:
Royal Gramma - Prince
Lettuce Nudi - Celine (Celine Dion - singer - Titantic song - Titanic hit by iceberg - Iceberg lettuce = Nudi named Celine )

I love this thread. Some of these names are great. I don't necessarily name my fish per say, but I do often refer to them by specific things. Like for some reason the Candy Basslets are Big Candy Basslito and Little Candy Basslito. Not sure where that came from. Otherwise I usually call them by what they are, but names are fun so maybe I'll figure some out.

Toby - Powder Blue Tang
Alvin - Sailfin Tang
Dusty - Scopas Tang
Fannie - Pink Tailed Trigger
Willie - Blue Sided Wrasse (he was One Eyed Willie from the Goonies because he was blind in one eye, but we had to change it when he got his eyesight back)
Scotty - Scott's Fairy Wrasse
Francis - Red Velvet Fairy
Fred and Ethel - True Percs
Sparky - Long Nosed Hawkfish
Waldo - Target Dragonette (He was so little when we bought him we were always going where's the baby, it turned into Where's Waldo)
Dookie - Coral Beauty - self explanatory
Neptune - Red Sea Star
Spot - Valentini Puffer - He acts like a dog.
I have named one crab - Blackie Chan - He has black striped legs. This crab has been with me since I started this hobby, and has pulled off unbelievable feats, like Jackie Chan...lol I'm not sure he is supposed to be in a reef, but he has never harmed a thing.

I name all my unique critters!

Jon and Nymeria- clown fish
Mr. Blue- Blue Tuxedo Urchin
Seymour- Pom Pom Crab
Walrus- (giant) Turbo Snail
Conehead- (not sure of type, possibly Astraea Snail)
Oy- Tiger Pistol Shrimp
Nocturnal- Tongan Nassarius Snail
Zebra- Dwarf Zebra Hermit
Big Red- Unknown Red Hermit

Hi I'm Joe, yes I'm a Reef-a-holic we have names for just about all 55 of our fish. Our Purple Tang we've had him for 12 years, named him "Culpepper" after Daunte Culpepper when he played for Minnesota Vikings way back in 2001

12 years WOW! What a lucky fish to be living under your care. That is amazing!
