Anyone never had luck with Anthias (Dispar specifically) ?

I've had 4 Dispar in my 75gal tank. 2 of them got real skinny and died. Now there are 2 left and they're getting thin as well. I feed my fish three times daily, with high quality food (Reef Frenzy, mysis, formula two,...). My other fish are fat, including the one Bartlett. Even the Blue Star Wrasse is fat. I also treated them with Metroplex before. Is it just that the Dispar is hard to care for?

They mostly feed on plankton in the wild I believe, which means that they feed through out the day. May be try easy reef masstick? I found that it lasts several hours and helps with fish which eat slow but all day long.

I will look into it but looks like the food won't last long with other greedy fish I have in the tank.

Dispar are typically easy to care for in my experience. I have 4 in my tank now with another 5 Evansi. I feed mysis twice a day and that's it. If they are slowly getting skinny my guess is that they have some sort of internal parasite.

Oh, you can always place little masstick on multiple places, helps with aggression. Give it a try. Good luck

My Dispar is all alone but flocks with my Bartlets...he blends in Knthink by colors. My Bartlett’s killed all my Lyretail in the Harem, and my Borbonius are larger so they don’t get beat up.
