Anyone Regret Going with a Bigger Reef Tank?

I have never been a fan of the bigger is better thought in this hobby. I personally have 0 interest in a tank over 180, really for a reef tank my personal favorite is 120, maybe if I was doing a fish only FW tank I would go 260 or so for large width for a mbu puffer, but that's about it.

I loved my biocube when it was going and never considered anything larger an "upgrade" just something different. But you gotta do the hobby the way it makes you happy!

Having 24" wide - front to back (or more) is great. Anything less makes aquascaping really hard. Access from above for maintenance is key. Had a pentagon tank with access ports which sucked. Currently have t5 hood which makes access hard and I hate it. Looking forward to led bar on new open top tank. Having tools to get to bottom / back is key if it's deep. Bigger is really about these issues and startup cost - after that it's less of an issue.

Never regret it. I started out with a small tank and got bigger and bigger and bigger till I stopped at my 255. If you have the money to get a big tank and get all the equipment that you want...I think its a better choice.
Issues happen slower in a big reef. So it gives you more time to identify and fix issue. Personally I think my 255 has been the easiest aquarium I have had to maintain. Of course I have a controller and allot of automation.
These are the things I learned as moving up through aquariums.

Its basically your choice in what you want. If you have the thought in your head on what size you want. Gof for it or you will be buying a new tank after your new tank.

I suggest you make a spreadsheet of items and prices so you can see them in front of you. There is a big difference in price in setting them up. Good luck in your decision.
