I'm hoping to run a skimmer off my return pump is this possible?

Wanted to use this external pump to run it and tank

No. You want the skimmer to remove the wastes, excess food, organics and stuff from the water so you want to skim from the overflow or early in the sump, not the return.

I never considered that !
Is that really a big issue if u don't get nutrients on first pass get them 2 nd or 3rd

It wouldn't be nearly as efficient. Its best to match your return pumps flow to your skimmer flow and place the skimmer where it receives the overflow water or is even fed by gravity from the oveflow and use a needlewheel or mesh impeller to whip it into a froth.

it's a good idea, less power needed, less clutter underneath, and works fine as long as you have all the connections set up properly

I don't have the skimmer yet that's the reason for thread trying to figure out what skimmer I can use!
