OK so know most ppl will run there Powerheads side to side...

but I just moved my tank and now I have a 3 side viewable tank! woot woot so it's like a cube-ish peninsula so I really want to take advantage of this and keep the PH off the side glass

tank is a SCA 90 36x24x24 with a center overflow... well right in the center so I was thinking of placing to ph on the back wall that have a wide flow pattern and bounce it off the front wall.

my tank is mostly LPS hammers torches etc. with a few softies and as of now 1 SPS. I do enjoy the movement of the corals in the flow.

so anyone out there is R2R land just running there PH back wall only? tips and tricks, thoughts and feedback?

cheers,
D

I would run one low across the bottom of the back of the tank so either on left or right wall. This will help move detritus from back of the tank and into the water column

Live seen plenty of tanks having pumps on the back. The only thing I've noticed on tank is that the flow is going bouce of a wall that is closer so the flow may be stronger when it comes in contact with the coral.

My 2'x2'x20" cube has both on the back wall. A smaller one high on the left aimed down and to the right front corner. The other is stronger and high on the right side aimed high and at the upper left front corner.

The only issue I have is some of my sand will wash away from the front glass and back up into my rock flower anemones and rock work. I expect to fix that by changing the rockscape. Making it a slope from high on the back glass down to the sand about 6" off the front glass. And adding an egg crate platform that most of my rock will sit on and be 1" to 2" above the sand. Smaller rocks will be used around the exposed edges of the platform.

Congrats on having 3 sides exposed on the new set up!

Look in the end of this post They are not only in the back - they are hidden too!

And the flow pattern - here - 4 mins into the video

Nema problema

Sincerely Lasse
