I'm trying to decide if I should run my skimmer in the same chamber as my return, the only problem i could think of is microbubbles but nothing a little foam pad will fix.
The only reason for that will be to increase my refugium space.
The sump is a 40g breeder for a 90g frag thank. The idea is to make this a propagation tank with heavy feeding so a large refugium is a most.
You guys think this is a good idea?
The sump will be glued this weekend.
I have enough space for doing separate chambers for both skimmer and return.
What you guys think any feedback is well appeciated

Something to consider is the height requirement of the skimmer to function properly. Changes in the water level could affect this.

I guess having it on its own chamber is going to make it way more stable, plus extra space for upgrading. Probably better to shrink the refugium but have a more effcient skimmer right?

Works just fine as long as you have an ato to keep your water level constant, I ran my 180 gal sump just fine this way with no issues

Easy enough to partition the return section for the skimmer.

What would you guys go for? Bigger refugium or more stable skimmer. I do plan to run an ato so....
The skimmer is rated for 180g it's a sca302
