Obviously the hobby is in a major movement towards reef aquariums, but for many years fish only tanks were the thing!
Just curious anyone out there still putting these systems together?
This was my 225 fish only with fossilized coral.

I still have a bunch of these decorational corals and don't know what to do with them?

thats a thing of the past lol. no not really but i could never do it.. i cant even handle not putting a zoa here and there in my qt lol

I have a fowlr :)
The 120 I'm setting up will be fowlr for some time, even when I add corals, it will be a minimal amount.
I love a good fish only tank, even though they're normally pretty simple. Its a nice change from the normal rock wall decked out with far too many corals. Plus you can have more fish that the reef people can't. I can't tell you how many tanks I've seen that have the same 5 fish in them. Almost every reef has a pair of clowns, a tang and a couple of wrasses. Not my cup of tea!

There's a guy in sunrise called Matt he has the nicest 500g fowlr i've ever seen. I don't know his name here.

Boy those white rocks certainly brings back memories.

Nothing wrong with a fish only tank. You are able to get more variety for sure. But ide do it with LR now since its a better biological diversity, AND you dont need to take out and bleach those darn things.

Yeah sure is a pain to bleach every four weeks to keep them white. Unfortunately the tank pictured is no longer up and running and have all those corals and more in storage and hoping there are still some people out there that like this look.

I want to do a fowlr and my reef when I move to a bigger house. For now I will only have my reef with the usual tang, clowns, and wrasses lol.
