Hi,

Yeah, I like the T5 grow, the color and the heat issue, but the tank doesn't look as good as mh and livelyhood like the metal halide does besides the sps looks a lot brighter than T5. Did any one switch for this reason? Please post your thoughts.

Thanks

I switched from t5s to mh and believe the color is was better with t5s.More options to find the just the right color.

I'm not sure about the brightness factor. I was running a constellation 7x54w T5 over my 48x24x20 tank and it was super bright with 5 Blue +, 1 Blue Special and 1 KZ Fiji Purple. I really liked the fixture a lot and liked the fact that you could switch out one bulb for only $20 and completely change the color spectrum of your tank. I went to a friend's house and he had phoenix 14k's and instantly liked the way that looked as compared to my tank so I switched to an elos 2 x 150w MH + 4x39W t5 fixture that I picked up at a great deal just to experiment with. My tank is in the basement so heat isn't really an issue for me. I think my tank looks better with the halides but it's all personal preference.

As far as SPS some looked better to me under the t5's.

Could you post your tank specs and what fixture you switched from/to?
