Work ordered a few extra iSpring RCC1DP RODI
Units and was wondering if this work for a Reef tank. There neat units as they have the pump built in but I typically see the pump being placed at the water source side.

Some thoughts here:
Avoid use of standard loose GAC as a prefilter, there are many better options.
Favor use of the American made Aquatec booster pumps rather than chinese knock offs
Look for systems with full size vertical DI cartridges
Look for systems with American made membranes
Look for systems produced by companies that sponsor R2R
You may not need a booster pump - most people do not.
 
Looks Like it has a DI Resin if I’m not mistaken
My bad. I thought it was another carbon filter. @Buckeye Hydro really hit the details about the short comings of the filter. The DI resin canister should be standard refillable not proprietary for long term use and savings.
