Anyone using a ph controller on a doser dosing kalkwasser? I need some info.

yes, i do. i use both an ATO and a ph controller

the ATO is set so the water level only get so high then turns off. my ph controller turn off my doser off when my ph gets above 8.3. most the time it only does at night when ph starts to go down and keeps the ph at a normal level. i dont control this just that way bases on the ATO and ph setting i have.

What kind of controller is it? I think I goofed getting a Milwaukee. It does not shut off when the ph goes high, only low. Wait. I am not sure that is right. Whatever it does it will keep the ph high but will not shut off if the ph goes too high.

The doser I have is a sentry. I am getting a light sensor so it will come on when the lights shut off and turn off when they come on but I wanted to back it up with a controller to keep the ph from going too high or low when the lights are out.

aquacontroller jr.

it's a multi-use controller comparable to the reefkeeper brand.

Which model controller did you get?

Yes, I jsut realized that. So how do you hook a ph probe to it? Does it have a port for it or do yo get other harware to hook to the AC?

my kalk unit is connected to my ATO and my ATO is connect to my ac jr and monirtored with the ph probe.

sorry for the muti post

I have the power supply to my Nilsen Stirrer and my Tunze Osmolator hooked up to an American marine pH controller. This is a safety feature. The AM unit has an outlet for a high or low setpoint, so I have them set to the high setpoint outlet, so if for some reason my Nilsen ODs the tank with kalk thru the Osmolator and my pH spikes, the controller turns off the Nilsen and the Osmolator if the pH hits 8.55.

I guess I did not do the research first. Thanks all for the info.

The Milwaukee SMS-122 is designed to shut off on low pH and start on high pH. It is intended to be used with a calcium reactor where you want to maintain a lower pH to dissolve the calcium media and shut it off if it gets too low. Milwaukee does/did make a reverse version of the SMS-122 and I believe you can send your back and for a fee they will reverse it so it operates the opposite way. Their Tech Support people are very helpful when it comes to things like this.
