Anyone use Hydra Aquatics Twist Water Flow Accelerators

anyone else use this product? seems kinda cool and useful, anyone use one at all?

I personally have used other brands of flow accelerators and I love them on my closed loop. They honestly do increase the amount of flow, but I don't think it hits the 4x flow mark most of them claim.

I am wondering about the new ones like this one that have the more random flow pattern as I feel it would defeat the design of an educator/penductor. I am all ears to opinions of people who have personally used these devices as well.

it seems really cool and beneficial to the tank, and more flow never hurt.. but im just not sure how this would work out, would the spinning portion get stuck? i feel like it would limit flow.. can this go on my locline that doesnt look like that one (mines rounded from glass-holes) i mean for $20 and i can get at least 2x flow.. that would save me from another powerhead in a sense...

Has anyone had issues with these causing micro bubbles? I had them on my tank and every so often they spit micro bubbles. I went back to the ones I originally had.

Yes... If you have them too near the surface with a lot of water being pushed through them, they will create a tornado effect and suck in air. When I first set mine up, I had them about 1.5" below the surface and I had this issue. I added one more lockline link to each which allowed me to bend the locline to still point where I wanted but move them another 1/2" lower. This stopped the problem. Now the only time this happens is if I turn off the return pump (which lowers the water level in the display by 1/2") but leave the closed loop pump on.
