Anyone use these for their mixing station? (stands)

Sort of being lazy and don't want to build a mixing station stand. I was looking on Amazon and saw this. I plan to buy the 23" Dia norwesco 65g tanks so it looks like they would fit on this pretty good. I could just put a 2'x4' piece of play on top of 2 of them and call it a day...

The title says aluminum and the description says galvanized steel. Pics look like galvanized as well. It states that it can hold that much weight. The only concern I'd have is putting it in a salt water environment, galvanized does not hold up well with salt water. Dissimilar metals with saltwater will speed up the corrosion process.

If you did use this I would add some diagonal bracing to the legs they look like they could fold easily

I just built a mixing station out of pressurized wood. It was easy to build and gave me what I wanted.

Looks like a hot water heater stand. Those can hold a ton of weight if it is. The galvanized steel comment by Sisterlimonpot is def worth noting.

Thats exactly what it is. I was going to place a 2'x4' piece of ply on top of 2 of them and then plastic drip trays with a line to a drain. Hopefully not much SW would ever get on the steel. At least that was my thinking. I could definitely build one out of wood but like I said, being lazy lol

I was planning to do the exact same thing as you with the hot water heater stand. How has yours worked out for you? I was thinking about a plastic pan under my Brute containers to try and reduce saltwater drips directly onto the stand. Just thought I’d see how yours has worked out so far.

I ended up going a different direction - those stands are made in China and I just didn't trust them. Home depot was also running a deal on one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-B...n-W-x-54-in-H-x-24-in-D-HBR652454W3/310651476

I'm glad I did, it's been sturdy and easy to build - I just placed some wood boards on top and boom, done.

That looks great!! I could build one too, but I figured by the time I bought the lumber precut because I don’t have a saw, suitable nails, etc, I may as well buy a metal stand. I’ll definitely check out the one from the link you sent. Looks like you’ve got it set at a good height as well. Thanks again!!

Yea, it's great. You get 3 shelves with it and only need to use one. I put one on the bottom for storage, then the second for the tanks. Having an adjustable height it kinda great, I put my buckets of salt underneath.
