Anyone used florida pets live mud?

I wanted to use aquaforest’s life source mud but the stuff is super hard to come by these days. Someone else on this forum recommended this site called floridapets. They offer live sand and mud along with others inverts and fish snd macro algea. Has anyone used this and does it serve as a good alternative to aquaforest life source mud? I’ve used them before to create a mangrove tank and it’s absolutely wonderful the customer service is really awesome not to mention if your lucky you could get some hitchhikers. Now I will say I would definitely let the mud set in some saltwater before adding it to your tank because it’s going to majorly cloud your tank!!!

I think they are referring to the old style website that is a basic one so costs for it are low.

In regards to them, I have used them in the past from Mud to macro. Never had a bad dealing with them and all items were packed very well.

I do second that you may want to put the mud in a container and let some of the floating particulates be filtered out. This can be done via HOB filter or an internal power filter. None of the stuff is harmful that is floating around and will settle after a bit of time, but it can cause a bit of a "dust storm" so to speak.

Slightly off topic but between Aquaforest Life Source and FloridaPets mud, I wonder which substrate houses more biodiversity (once it reaches the North American west coast where we are). One is derived from Fiji while the other is from Florida.

Probably Fiji lots of current bringing in ocean nutrients.
