So long story short I’m not going be able to run a big internal bubble king like I had planned due to size. So looks like a external is in my future. Looking for good quality High end options for my 550 gallon and growing system. I have been looking at a bubble king external deluxe 300. Also at that price point I could get the smallest RK2 skimmer. Anyone have any recommendations?

No experience with that BK skimmer. But I do run the Double Cone 200 BK skimmer. One piece of advice I can offer is dont oversize his brand. They are very conservative rated. I reached out to Jeremy (modern aquatix) and Slief (RC) to get their recommendations. Slief is the US rep for BK. I run mine on a 240 cube with about 20-25 fish that get fed 5 times a day. I would think that is a heavy bioload....the skimmer doesn’t even miss a beat. It is a workhorse and BRS recommendation is 150 gallon heavy bioload......

corey

I ran the BK Supermarin 250 internal , so some experience with BK line.

I did run the Deltec TC2560 external. Of the 2, I preferred the Deltec and external in general.

I had to leave the hobby a few years ago. Just now setting back up and was looking for another Deltec. Ended coming across a 6ft MTC dual venturi. Couldnt pass it up.

Maybe contact Adam at Battle Corals for some input on Deltec.

Good luck

I run a BK external 300
Best piece of equipment I have spent $ in

I actually suggest Aquarium Engineering, the skimmer has been killer. Lead time and customer service a bit dicey but the thing works and he can make them in any size. I run my full siphon drain through the skimmer then into the sump. Having auto cup and neck washdown is pretty cool.

I have a Mrc “my reef connection “
MR2
Capable of skimming 300+ gallons with single Beckett .
to increase volume capability , just add a second Beckett .
They also make larger skimmers worth looking into
