Contemplating adding one as I like the benefits of adding kalk with my top off water. Just wondering if people were happy with there's or just any feedback really.
Thanks

the Best practice to adding kalk would be added with a dosing unit. You could get a small one like a coral box or kamoer x1. And add that way to make sure your always adding the correct amount, and no added stress to your ato pump. If you water it stirred you could get a magnetic stir plate to put under your container

#Jseimo I will be using my GHL doser to take water from my ATO reservoir and dose the kalk. My ATO will still be running regular RODI water to make up the difference. Also the IceCap stirrer uses a magnetic stirrer.

I think they’re a great product, and I’ve seen a lot of good. I’m just a budget reefer and a magnetic plate and stir stick works for me

it’s a good unit, and very effective at mixing the water with the kalk. I would say it’s better than the a recirculating.

I'm torn between maybe DIYing a unit and running a GHL magnetic stirrer off my doser. If the Icecap is a good quality unit and the people using them like them then I may just get one.

I’ve bought the Icecap 150 with the intent to dose with a GHL maxi pump pushing fresh water into the unit and Kalk mix out. Don’t need it set up just yet.. but soon.

Avast marine k1 kalk stirrer I think is the most proven

The Avast I've looked at. Leaning towards the magnetic stirrer. Plus the white and blue scheme of the IceCap matches the white and blue GHL doser. Which is a big plus for aesthetics lol

good morning all, I just got the Icecap 150 and have it setup with my Apex to stir 5 times a day and with the DOS I add about 2000 ML of RO water over the entire day. This way, in a perfect world, Kalk would be dripped all day, but it’s not a perfect world lol. The unit is level and drips directly into my sump. The issue I’m dealing with is that as the DOS adds the new RO water, the Icecap container can create a bubble (or something) that stops the dripping at the top and this starts to fill the container above the gravity drip opening. How can I avoid this? What ends up happening is that it fills up and I notice it and give it a tap and a shake or it can fill all the way if I don’t intervene. This releases the clog but ends up dumping the Kalk solution into my sump at a fast pace. Not good… any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you.
