I am interested in purchasing one. I haven't seen one in person, but I have heard good things.
What's your experience?

Just my two cents . I remember seing a thread on one unit but two had to be used to get good punch . This past weekend .
I played with one in the LFS . He had a 15 incher for me but I was toying with the 24 inch model over a 36 inch tank . When the ATI SP was on it got drowned out . My thoughts were my LB MW would do the same . I left it at the store . I may be wrong but a buddy said " P it's just a high dollar moon-light " . Still wondering if I missed out or not .

If you would have gotten the 36 inch model you would have have WAY more LEDs... The 15 inch model only features 6 LEDs, so by adding 20 inches, you get 3x the LED. Assuming you are running a 39w ATI T5 system... I could understand how 6, 3w LEDs powered down may look a little weak. I'm willing to bet 3-4 of these could compete with a 6-8 bulb T5 fixture.

Edit: 24 inch fixure you played with has 12 LEDs.

sorry if I am hijacking the thread...but how are you guys using these add ons...I have a 60" tek 8 bulb but want to add some shimmer..how are you guys doing this...me lighting is suspended from two diy electrical conduit pipes...help me out

A 36 inch unit retroed to a LB MW would be pretty odd .The LFS thought the 36 inch unit would be better than the 24 too with the ATI unit . LOL I wanted to try the 15 as my LB MW is 16 inches wide and I could hide the 15 inch inch pretty well without it looking rigged . I was looking for more pop when the halide it on .

I have both a 36” bar on my 46 gallon, and a 24” bar on my 60gallon cube. I am thoroughly impressed with the results. It makes a great supplement to my metal halide in my 60 gallon, and a sick light on its own. On my 46 gallon I do get additional color pop, but not really the water ripple affect.

All in all I am very happy with my purchases. Keep in mind these are set to only half their brightness at the factory to increase their lifetime. I haven’t bothered adjusting mine up.

I am using their dual arch MH bulbs and love them. Their customer service has been awesome also.

I believe with build an entire canopy around it to take the LEDs, you are not going to be happy one extreme or the other.

Whats an LB MW?

Reefbrite claims that ther 36" blue LED strip light has:
PAR rating double of ATI Blue Plus T5 Lamp w/Reflector

It's a Lumenbrite Mine Wide Pendant . >>

Kraylen ur prolly right . I am still swapping halide bulbs too . It's hard to chose a balance since I have used t5's for so long . My buddy claims I am a double click away from an ATI T-5 fixture .

I have a reefbrite 48" on a 90g its awesome. All blue, full coverage top to bottom @ about 8inches and 45degrees into the tank def can see a big difference. You have to tune them down a tad because they are really powerful and can wash out the tank with blue (looks like camera pics) but you can dial it in to your tanks clarity.

This is my tank (a week after I first set it up; i don't have any current pics)

I was thinking about sitting the Reefbrite on the back end of the tank. Probably raise it 1-5" off the black rim somehow (wood, metal, or plastic). Then have it angled at somewhere around 45 degrees.

Any better ideas on how I could mount it?
