I have an ATI BM200 that I'm using on my 90gal. Its a great skimmer when its working but every so often it overflows which is really annoying. Just curious if any other members are using these skimmers.

What is your water depth you are running in your sump? You need ideally 6 to 8" I believe. I've had trouble when it was less than 6", then you have to really close up the gate valve to get good skimmate, which leads to the skimmer more likely to have overflow trouble.

I keep my sump water level at 6". Right now I have the gate valve closed 1 half turn. If I close it anymore it overflows.

I have a BM 250 on my 240 gallon tank.
Sounds like the water level inside may be just a hair too high.
Once I found the sweet spot on mine, it works great. But once in a while the skimate gets a little thin.(as in too much water.) But that is not very often.

I'll try lower the water level to 5" and see how that works. Mine also skims on the wet side.

I mean the water level( or bubble level ) on the inside.
Try opening the gate valve just a very tiny bit.
When it is skimming wet and overflows, the gate valve may be closed a ittle too much.
When you are doing adjustments, do it in tiny amounts and wait several days to check out the results.

On mine when I phosguard on the tank the skimmer went nuts for a couple days, overflowing so much the skimmer was unuseable.
When I feed the tank, the bubble level gose way down for a couple hours, so this isn't the time for me to make adjustments.
