i have been battling a slight red slime problem for the last month or so and it never crossed my mind that i had switched salts and currently use d&d... well just the other day i was taliking to a buddy who had a real bad problem and was using d&d also...he also told me that people were posting about this same problem online.. was just wandering if anyone around here has used it or is using it???

I have been using D & D for over a year now. no problems with slime at all. honestly this to me has been the best salt i have bought yet. I am nolonger buffering many of my customers tanks that i service. My only gripe is that i get some stuff that does not disolve in the bottom of my mix. so my mix container is slowly browning and i just need to clean every few months.

have you looked at your Rodi tds? just wondering

i use it - best salt i've ever used. no slime issues at all. did you test for phosphates and nitrates? test a new batch of saltwater to see if anything registers. how long do you mix it before adding it to the tank?

oops just realized this is the lps forum and not the general reef dissucusion..:( sorry about that..feel free to move...
today when i get home im gonna check a fresh batch and see what it says... i changed my whole rodi set up out because of this problem new bladder, membrane, prefilters, resin etc...hmm i will keep you posted...i don't have a hanna so im sure i cant really say on the po4 but the others should show on my sailfert kits....im also seeing people use gfo cannisters now on there mixing stations rite before the storage barrels...i just recently read that tropic marin pro has really high po4 like 10ppm or something crazy i will have to find that article again and make sure i read that correctly...it didnt sound rite maybe 1ppm 10 is outtrageous...

I get the same thing as well but it is better then some other salts

we used it in our store for a long time, I once tested it, and it showed phosphates (which it claims has zero) So I called them up, and they said they had a bad run. Needless to say that ticked me off, nevertheless I still use it and love it, and have NO problems whatsoever

We use it exclusively in one of our systems,.. no problem algae, incredible SPS growth.
