Has anyone tried the high capacity GFO? If it actually does absorb twice as much, its under twice the price so it seems like it would be a better value.

What are you guys using?

I've been using it for about two years and it works really well actually use less of it than the regular

just ensure you put a media bag on the exit line.. it gets eveywhere if you dont...

I have never used the high capacity GFO just the regular. the regular works great but it is a little dusty and requires a very good rinse. I wonder if the high capacity is less dusty??

Could be! Once I get to the point I want/need GFO, I'm probably going to order the high capacity just to see what it's like, so maybe we can put a few theories to the test if no one else orders it before then. :)

Goby, how much longer does it last? Or how much less do you use? Do you think its worth the higher price?

Yes, it is 100 times less dusty. All I do is turn the reactor on into a bucket and the water is clear in seconds. I run about a half gallon through it just because.

Also, I'd advise to use half a much as BRS recommends. Even less if you're just starting to use it.

I use the reg GFO. I don't rinse it or anything else, I let the PS pull it out of the DT. I don't like the massive dip in phos that it causes. It really does a great job. I like running po4 around .04-.08.

I use the BRS High capacity..... Less dust and last longer... Does great job. I run it in a reactor very little flow... just barely see any tumble at all on top of GFO. My po4 stay around .03 but I feed pretty heavy in DT twice a day.

Awesome... thanks for all of the replies, everyone!
