I currently have 2 black boxes on my tank, both have seen better days. I was shopping for a radion x30 gen 3-4 so that it would attach to my apex. I stumbled upon this 100w unit on amazon. It appears to be set up like a radio except it only has 2 channels like the black boxes do. Anyone using this light? What is your opinion on it? If I dont get this i will prob get 2 new boxes and hack them to work with my 0-10v on apex

Not seeing any "wifi" dimming or anything like it..
Manual touch panel though..
With touch control, white and blue channels can be operated together or independently, allowing you to adjust the light intensity and spectrum for your tank

My guess is those use constant voltage so controlling will b using a MOSFET switch.
Most of these type use a positive ground which also complicates this.
There probably are not "proper" drivers.

I fig it was prob the same type of drivers used in black boxes, either pwm or 1-10v to dim, the pwm i can get a converter to switch from 0-10v

I have a Nicrew blue / white LED fixture over my 40 gallon fuge. It grows chaeto like a weed. I don’t know that I would use it for much more than that, but works great as a fuge light, and couldn’t beat the price. Rocker switch has 3 positions, so it is either off, blue LEDs only or both. I run with both blue and white.

I was looking at the 100w, the led's are arranged like an ecotech. I was thinking with them arranged so closely that they would blend better. In the end after thinking about it idk if its worth paying $40 for a fixture that is 65 watts less than a blackbox

Wow, that's the closest I've seen to trying to imitate a Radion. The fixture looks like one.

bb's don't run at 165.. 110W is close to the real wattage
