Will be starting a new build thread here soon. I've been brainstorming the idea for lighting. Currently Im running a moded Giesmann Bilux fitted with 4x18 watt actinic T-5's and a 250 watt Radium. The new reef tank will be a AGE 48"x36"x20" braceless trimless reef tank...so my thought is to have 2 x ReefBrite Halide Hybrids running the 250 Radiums but having the XHO LED as my supplement instead of the T-5's. If you have the this fixture how do you like it? How do you like the look?

I built something similar to this for my friends 28gal nanocube hqi. It has the 175watt double ended halide bulb then I added a 18 inch heatsink from rapid led that was cut in half and mounted on each side of the bulb. Each side got 5 cree royal blue leds being ran off a dim. driver. And wow does it look great!

WOW! Thats pretty sick! I can't start to say how many bulb ballast combos I've been through since I started reefing. What I found that works for me is a 250/400 Radium/Lumatek ballast. So Im going to stick with using a halide. I won't go all LED. But I do want LED's for supplemental lighting. The ReefBrite Hybrid offers that and I think I like it but would love too see some more reviews.

I have the reefbrite 250 halide with blue LEDs's and love it. I have 3 units on my 180 and I believe they are the 16" set ups!

Are you running a single or double ended halide? Any pics?

Mogul.... I do have a pic but not really of the lights all alone

That's the one I'll be getting. Excited about it now!

I do... I have 2 of them and run the LED's from 6:30 am to 8:30 PM
The halides come on at 11:30 until 5:30...
The Moon lights come on at 8:30 PM until 6:30 AM

Ok.....I need to check out these moon lights. Thanks for your input:)

Did you buy it yet. I'm curious cause I'm looking to upgrade my 57 illuminata to possible a 93 cube. I've read that it's hard to light a cube and the halide hybrid looks like it could be a great option.
