Hey everyone,

I am running a Vectra S2 in my Waterbox Marine X 110.4 which is a 80G display. It is currently running at 75%. What are all of you running yours at and in what size tank? I'm trying to figure out if I need something bigger or not. I feel like at 75% I may not be getting the surface agitation I would like. I read mix things on running some of these products at full capacity or near full capacity because of life expectancy. Is it that big of a deal to run these higher?

I have and 80 gal display. I run a M2 at 45%. I also run two MP 40's at 40-60%. What wavemakers are you running?
I have the same everything. I don't really rely on the return pump for surface agitation either that is what the wave makers do OP. You also want to balance your return with your sump so there is sufficient dwell time for the water there to get filtration.

I like to oversize my equipment and then run at a lower percentage. You don't want to rely on your return pump for water movement.

I have the waterbox frag 105.4…I also have the S2 and run at 70% and 2 mp 40’s at 50%. Seems pretty good to me. :-) Always open to suggestions tho

I currently have one mp40 running at 45%. I will be adding a second one. The second one was ordered but got lost in the mail so I have been dealing with that so hope to have it soon. In the meantime I am just running a cheapo from petco to just keep things circulated. When I get the second mp40 in there you think I would be fine with running those and even tuning the S2 back a little since I wont need to rely on it for as much flow?

How big is your sump? You want something around 5x to 10x turnover circulation through your sump which should be based on your return pumps output capabilities.

Yes. For sure.

25.7G per the spec sheet.
Yes. For sure.
Awesome. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

I have been running my s2 at 100% for a higher turn over rate to keep nutrients down in my 48” 120 gallon.
