Hi,

Tank is around 90-100 gallons with sump and only sps . Bioload is approaching pretty high with 8 anthias, 3 wrasses and 2 clowns fed multiple times a day .
Currently running a Deltec SC 1350 but think I need to go larger.
Due to space constaint in the sump, BK is out of question. So was looking at the new Tunze 9410 DC skimmer .
Anyone have any experience with these ?

I run the plain 9410 on a system that's about the same size - 90-100 gallons. Either it or the more-powerful DC model would do great on that tank.

Are you already pushing the Deltec as hard as possible by wet skimming?

When I'm doing that, I try to empty and clean the skimmer as often as possible...daily isn't too much. And I tune it so the skimmer cup is full every time I clean it. Or at least that's what I shoot for...and I tend to make lots of very small, measured adjustments to get the skimmer dialed in there.

The Tunze's are significantly bigger (600 and 750 lph vs only 450 lph) so either should be a worthy upgrade performance-wise.

Thanks @mcarroll for the reply .
Well yeah am already skimming wet and emptying cup every 2-3 days .
But right now am forced to feeding as my nutrient levels are rising high .
Hence looking at upgrades ..

How do you like the 9410 ? Am completely unfamiliar with tunze so wanted to know if there's a way I can attach my CO2 scrubber line to the pump ?

Regards,
Abhishek

Every 2-3 days is pretty good! :) If you can't do more than that, then yeah I guess going bigger has to be your answer.

Well, adding more corals is also an option. :)

I don't know what your scrubber is like, but their air-intake on the skimmer is a pretty standard setup, with the exception that at the top it connects to the skimmer cup for the function of the anti-overfoam feature.

Well I have already started on the mission to add more acros :D

The CO2 scrubber is a standard BRS RODI canister with sodalimd and a normal RODI pipe connected to the air intake of my skimmer pump .
If you say that for tunze , it connects to the cup instead of the skimmer pump air draw , wonder how will it impact pH of the water and keep it high .

Hard to say since I've never used one, but...

It seems like you should be able to hook it up to the ozone port – which is an airline tubing-sized port.

My 9410 has another little opening in the neck between the two ports....if yours has that too, just seal it off and the suction from the air intake should draw through the ozone port just fine. Make sense?

You might have to look at a skimmer closeup pic.

You also might also ask Roger of Tunze USA for his opinion. Here's available on here @rvitko or the Tunze forum or all his contact info is on tunze.com too.
