Thanks for the pic man! I have 3 over my 180 but for some reason I thought that it would cover the whole tank with just one radian....guess not....I'm gonna have to rethink what i want to do now!

It leaves lowlight on the ends, & I have it up pretty high. Also, this pic not taken at full capacity, it's an evening shot.

Oh okay, so as it dims at night it doesn't cover all of the tank but other than that it looks fine?

honestly, I think two, would be overkill. a 40B is 36" long, and ecotech suggests a 30x30 footprint for the radion. So, youre losing about 3" on either side and get the most illumination in the center, obviously. But really, unless you are putting very high light demanding species on the ends, i think youll be fine. thats just my opinion. for reference, this is mounted 14" about the h2o surface.

No. I was going to drill it, then decided to just keep it simple and try it old school with a HOB. Its in my office, and i wanted it to be fairly quiet. I am thinking about building/buying and AIO, but really its the same, just cleaner looking. so, ill save the money, run the HOB, and get more corals!!

haha...ill let you know how it goes. been awhile since ive not had a sump. but, really a good HOB skimmer, some heaters, a great light, combined with some rock and sand, and it should be great. I really dont see the need for the AIO, except like i said, it does look super sexy!!
