Did you waterproof the connection? If so how did you do it?

Not sure if this is what you are asking for, but you can use heavy duty extension cords rated for outdoor use.
Good for using under your stand. Or are you asking for something you can submerge?

Not submerged. I dont want to worry about a drop or two of water causing a fire where you connect two cords together. Like this pic.

This pic is better if i got a drop where its connected it could atart a fire

I like it! ^^^

I always figured if the outdoor cords were safe to sit out in rain and snow running all my christmas lights, they are ok under my stand. lol ;)

Well they arebt that exspensive anyway

I have no idea, it's just what I was told when the fire inspector man came and inspected the building I work at. We spent days rearranging our extension cords so they'd be up to code.

I havent heard of that. But its good you dont use them.

Anyway to do it without that thing. Cant find it in canada. Best buy has it but its 41$ for one. Scammers.

Could i silicone around it? Put some electricsl tape?

I do not do anything to my electrical connections for my tank. I have yet to see water start a fire. If you tape or cover the connection so they stay damp and corrode you might start a fire.

So if extension cords are not acceptable, how do we do it?

I'm not saying they aren't acceptable. I just plug mine directly into wall outlets, not into other extension cords. Maybe the fire safety inspector was full of crap? I just do what he says, that's all.

Hes a fire saftey guy so id take his word on it. I guess the best way is to have an electrician wire it all up.
