I just added this guy yesterday, he opened quickly and seems to be doing well today. But we just spotted this on his disc today…

the bump something to be worried about?
 
Is it bubble algae? Like a green little ball? Take it out and clean it off.

Or are you talking about dark discoloration on the disc?

The little ball under the heads - it’s green, kinda looks like an egg or something. Bubble would be fair - I’ve never seen bubble algae before

Oh ok you see it on frags here and there. Just pick it off and make sure no more on there. You can dip the coral base in low dose peroxide mix also if you want .

Bubble algae is fairly common.

I had a fat syringe that I use to fill the water vials of the api tests that was wide enough to fit it, and sucked it up in that and inspected the rest of the area and looks clear from there.
Seeing it in the whites and again in the waste water, I think you were right. So potential pain in the butt averted!
