The snail in my refugium has a pretty dirty shell with a variety of algaes on there. I think i see some bryopsis on there too. Is there any way to clean the shell good to rid it of these pretty well rooted algaes?

Remove the snail in a small bucket of tank water and use a toothbrush to gently srub the shell. I do this during a water change.

I'll try it next waterchange, I have a feeling though that some of the strand type of algae arent going to come off.

Add an emerald crab. They clean my snails really good. Usually at night when they clean from inside. Not so much the outer shell though

When my snails get hair algae growing on their shells, I invert them and submerge the shell in 50/50 tank water/peroxide for several minutes. Make sure not to submerge the tissue. Then, take a stiff toothbrush and brush off the algae, which is weaker and softer after the dip.

I thought about the crab but problem is i got a killer shellfish allergy (i know im in the wrong hobby lol) so the refugium wouldn't have enough food for the little crabby then i'd have to move him back up after.

My hermits clean my snails' shells. Sometimes they will actually piggy back on the snails when they are way up in the tank and then fall when they can't hold on any longer. Pretty comical.

Shellfish allergy wouldn't effect you unless you ate the little guy.
