AP 700 Dims by itself

I have noticed a few times that my tank seems dimmer than I set it. I go get my phone, and as soon as I connect to the light with wifi I can see the tank get brighter. Note: This is before I touch anything, or even open the app. I just connect, and the light brightens to the intensity I had set it at.

Any idea what's going on?

How do you have your AP700 set up? Connected directly to phone, or to WiFi router?

I did not know anything about connecting to it via wifi router, though I have one. So I just looked it up. Given that you still have to use the app on the phone...what would be the point?

I connect to it directly by phone. I have set it up, saved it, and disconnected from it only to come back later and think to myself that it looks dimmer than I believe I had it. Sure enough, when I connect to it to look at the settings, it gets brighter as soon as the phone connects.
