Well I did a boneheaded thing while attempting to set up a kessil ap700. I put the kessil face down on some foam and when it turned on the leds heated up the foam causing one lens to shatter. Obviously this is a lesson learned the hard way. I was able to remove the broken pieces and yes, the led does still work. I've emailed kessil but have yet to receive a response. My question is does anyone know what kind of glass is used on the lens so I can order a replacement if kessil is unable to assist me?

Thanks in advance,

Kessil will have to reply, but I wonder if you could get lucky and just install the diffuser. That a 'hack' solution. I know someone who burnt the living room rug with their radions. It sucks, but you are not the first nor the last.

Yeah, when I just got my AP700, I laid it on a towel for a few seconds while fiddling with the settings. I was shocked at how hot the glass lenses got. I hope Kessil takes care of it for you... Good luck!

Kessil I got back to me and it's only $50 for a new piece with two new lenses so I'll be going that route. Live and learn but yes those things heat up in a hurry

It's very deceiving, but LEDs do get extremely hot. That's why they need active cooling in most all fixtures. The fact that Kessil was able to develop a light (A80) that doesn't need a fan is no small accomplishment. Place your hand just an inch or two under the lens of the AP700 when it's on 70+% and you can feel a lot of heat radiating.

Can you tell me how to obtain this piece? Or even a part number?

I did the same thing but the glass lense did not break they do have the brown burn on them so I contacted kessil waiting for their reply to order new ones also, and other bad thing is I burnt the leather chair it was on and that chair is no longer available so now I have to find two new leather chairs so they match once the wife finds a pair she likes

I burnt my couch with my AI Prime. Walked away while it was initializing, didnt realize it would toggle on at full power once it was done. It would be so much safer and simple to have it start up at 0%...

We can't help with the new chair, we're sorry! Looks like we've gotten an email response out to you for the replacement lens panel. We'll get you taken care of.
