anyone have par results for the new ap700? i know it will be able to grow sps and such but i just want to be able to compare it to a radio xr30w lets say about... 12" from the water

Check out the BRS 160 video from last week. It covers exactly what you're asking.

yeh i came across it last night at like 4AM lol. my issue now is weather or not i should go for the Ap700 with all that BS ive read about the software updating, and the controller only being able to be used with an IPAD

I just got mine...and I'm an android user. I like it still, but basic functionality without the app. Can't wait until it comes out.

well lets say you have an ipad (i do) would you rate this over the radion xr30? (not the pro) i have a 55gallon that im going to make into a mixed (LPS DOM) will the ap700 be enough for it? a standard 55 48" long 20" high 13" deep.

ive seen your video on youtube as well. are you growing SPS under this light? and do you have experience with the radions and if so which do you prefer?

I am. Quite well actually. I am out of town right now but will post some update pics when I get home tonight.

I don't have personal experience with the Radion Pro but I have seen enough tanks with them that I still consider them to be the top end of LED fixtures. I'm just not as big of a fan of their look as I am of Kessil's.

I have always had AI led lights through many iterations of their lights. I made the jump to this light because I wanted that kessil shimmer. It does not disappoint. Although there is the frustration with the software the light does show evidence of growing sps. My tank is heavy with sps and although there was a stall initially when switching lights, I am now seeing growth. I need to get a par meter to know exactly what intensity I'm at in my tank but feel like it's pretty well dialed in now. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the lights.

I'm not an expert...but the experts say this light is hands down the best. And it's not because of its high par. It's because of its even spread of par, and because of its spectrum. No other light has the spectrum that this has. And that is probably because no other manufacturer put the R&D into it what grows coral like Kessil did...that's why they're the only ones that make their own diodes, instead of sourcing them from Cree like most other manufacturers do.
