Trying to decide which route to go. I have the chance to get a AP700 at reasonable price, but I'm not sure if it would be overkill for a 40G Breeder. I already have 1 A160WE, so my backup plan would be to buy 2 more. However, with the goosenecks the price is similar to the AP700. Looking to keep LPS/nems/clams/maybe some easy SPS. What lighting would be a better investment?

honestly u can grow coral with just 2 kessil a160 i did it in a 4ft 55gal. but if u want to be prepared for an upgrade and have better controlability go with ap700

Thanks for the insight. In that case I'll prob just buy another 160

Adding one more A160 will definitely be the cheapest way to get this tank up and running and ready for coral. It might not put out enough light to do the really high light demanding corals, but two A160 will run a 40 breeder mixed reef very well for the long run.
