I have been able to successfully negotiate 16 mos of my own bug spraying in attempts to slow/stop cross contamination into my pico, I loathe indoor bug spray lol

but the time has come where Im required to let them poison my house, who has had apartment nanos go through bug spray when you are not even home successfully/any losses?

they def do not fumigate. they accompany the local sprayer and its liquid sprayed on baseboards my pico sets on the counter. no fumigation

Isn't your tank a pico vase? Surely you could move that to a friend's house for a few days if you were concerned. Literally like 10 lbs

agreed but they're going to start coming in every three mos pretty much id rather just tough it out. Ive been spraying that standard home depot 1 year stuff inside on baseboards no harm, I figure the pro stuff isnt much different. even if I had a friend avail the mgr says one day it'll be off schedule and things w just have to be ready, I bet someone has had a nano endure a few sprays by others?

You should be fine even if its on a monthly basis. Just as long as its liquid and not aerosol and they don't spray it directly in your tank all is well.

I feel much better! if I had to predict, no spraying w occur for a while due to virus but around end of summer/brings poison lol

I've had routine pest treatments for years (quarterly), sometimes I'm home, sometimes not. They are very professional with the pets (dog, cat, fish) and know what not to do and I've never had any issues even with more extensive sprays required for a minor infestation.

That said...I do go with smaller company where I've talked to the local owner personally - they're growing so haven't seen him in a couple years but still get same level of professionalism.

my blood pressure is resuming back to normal thank you very much!

don't think I did not consider a miniature positive air pressure chamber vented from outside
with acrylic panel touch alarm/120 db siren

the stuff pest control companies have access to IS different than what you get a depot/lowes.

More concentrated, more dangerous to personal health in high doses, need to be licensed to even buy and handle the stuff.

That being said, chances are they are jsut using a more concentrated version of some consumer grade product just to save a buck. They only bring in the big guns when they need them because they are expensive.

As long as they just use a liquid pump sprayer and get the baseboards/around furniture on the floor you should be fine.

Just saw the idea for the the case with an alarm. This is clearly the only way to go now lol.

My professional exterminator would not risk spraying in the room tank was in. I had to put a towel in front of the closed door. I had the inside sprayed once only. The perimeter of house and gardens are sprayed monthly during the warm months.

I don't know how it works, but perhaps you could ask them to temporarily cover the tank with plastic wrap or something while they spray?

hey I should have updated team, it all worked fine. They let me opt out of bedroom spraying; so i moved all water bottles there and hoses and anything associated with contam into br and closet.

they only sprayed outside and lightly inside and not a thing went wrong, that was pure stress but resolved ok for sure. price of apartmenting but it worked out. im due for another run, dangit, in Aug

side twist: maint is supposed to accompany all 3rd party people into our places. well they didnt (says my wyze cam) and the man still lightly sprayed wo being asked. he looked at 429's aquariums and thought hey, this guy likely isn't joking we should not poison these items.

poison control professionals have our backs, are strong with the science of what they're applying is my takeaway.

they had about fifteen assurance requests from me lol before the spray, we had a talk about how some betta vases can be special... I tried to explain it like this: you know how people love their dogs, I mean to the point they prefer dogs over human social interaction? that's how it is with this vase. they really took care not to cause harm.
