APEX AFS and rimmed tanks

I jsut got an Apex AFS and I am using it on a 60 gallon cube. This like most devices seems to really have been made for people with rimless tanks. The best I could do on it really doesn't strike confidence in its placement. Has anyone came up with a good looking solution for this that is also functional?

If you have a sump, just put it there. I have a rimless tank, but didn't want the AFS viewable, so I put it in the return section and added a small powerhead to make sure none of the food settles.
