I'm curious to see what everyones amp average readings are on larger systems 180++. List what types of equipment you have. Would really like to have all sorts of variety on equipment. A.c. vs dc pumps, led, t5, halides, chillers, power heads. Hopefully can get a bunch of input. Usefull in calculating yearly cost of larger systems.

500+gallons 1 tank 1 sump. Here are the figures from my Apex power units. The numbers are the high readings. 3.1 amp 5.2 amp 2.6 amp
Skimmer SRO-7000
Reeflo dart / snapper
Reeflo hammerhead / cuda
MP60's
Kessel Led lights
Heaters 2 x 300w
UV unit Pond Pro

Id say thats definetly going to be on the high end. Hope you live in a place where energy cost are not to high but im sure you dont really care with a set up like that.

What are yoy keeping in a tank like that seems like everyones dream tank. Not to get off topic

Texas is a lot cheaper than Calif. I could not do this in Calif. The tank has some big rocks - 40 pounders, a few LPS, few SPS. Maybe 15 fish. All small ones. Big one is a lawnmower about 3 inches. 2 urchins 2 shrimp. Have some saltwater plants in the tank too. Here is the tank build if ya want to see. It is actually a tank build. Not store bought. Nems are next on the list.

I peak at 4.9 amps on a 150 with basement sump, though that excludes by Blueline 70 that is rated at 2.6 amps and would bring my total to 7.5 amps. I chose to give up Apex control of my return for the peace of mind knowing that an Apex failure wouldn't be able to completely shut down my system. I also use another 4 or so amps for heaters in the winter depending on how cold my basement gets.

Here’s mine. Tank is 600 gallons awv. There’s a 120 gallon refugium and an 80 gallon sump.

Much of my equipment does not run through apex (and I don't entirely trust the EB amp readings anyhow). My system is about 7oo gallons. The energy pigs are:

1. 3/4 HP chiller - 13 amps, but it only runs periodically, and just during the summer
2. About 1,500 watts of heating, but again only during the winter
3. Lighting - four Radion 30s, six Kessil 360, six Kessil 160 and one 150W metal halide.
4. Pumps - PanWorld 200, 100 and two 40s; one Vectra M1 plus a lot of powerheads.

Yeah - California is pretty miserable. Beautiful state but inept in so many things that we probably shouldn't talk about here. About the only thing that allows me to do it is Solar house and low power equipment with regards to pumps and lighting. Cor return pumps, gyre's internal, and DIY LED's. 210 gallons was about my limit and I've considered downgrading.

Thanks for the replies so far. You guys have aome huge tanks I'm jealous probably not jelous of your electric bill but I'm sure its worth it

How do you guys get this view. Is it part of new system or a update?

I will look tomorrow I have 2 smaller tanks but the power today is so cheap. I remember back in the late 80s and 90s having a 700 to 800 dollar bill every month Halidesband VHO and T5s love LEDs and DC pumps
