i just port forword my apex and now i cant control it form my android? my broher in law can from his apple. what went wrong? any advice

following, as I have an android and getting an apex next month

If setup/forwarded properly, it won't matter what device/computer you control it from.
If you don't forward to external IP address, then you will only be able to control from within home network.

but i can control it from my computer in my house and my brother in law can control i from his phone and his computer from his house i just cant get my android to connected to it.

Did you change the ip that it was set to in the android app?? It will change from 192.168.1.x to what ever the ip adress is of the router.

Once Fusion is available this won't be an issue, correct?

I'm on fusion beta and its still an issue. From what I can tell it still goes through the internet and through the routers. I thought it would go away also but no luck.

i could swear in the BRS interview with the Neptune guy he said it would be chaning.

I did too and I guess it is maybe I was just having trouble? I did finally get it up and running today after some time figuring it out.

following this as well as I'm looking into getting an Apex with mobile setup. So your brother was able to control yours from his house? If that's the case then forwarding is definitely setup properly. Not sure how the interface works however, but if you forward the port to an external IP does that shut off access for the local devices? Like if you were to turn of wifi on your Android and try to reach it using 3 or 4g, does it work? I was curious to see how easy it would be to set this up.

The other day I was at work and I was messing with it and I think I got it to work. I dont know what I did differently besides I was out of the house I believe it is working I just been putting the alk doseing pump on and it seams to bring up the ph but I still want to make sure by haveing some one watch it and me turn the fuge light on and off. Will give a nother update soon.

My Verizon modem will not pick up my android app if I am on WiFi and try to use the Routers outside IP. I have to either use use 4g, or change the ip to 192.168.1.2 in the app if I am on my home WiFi.

That sounds like you don't have the fields in the app properly completed.

The "Host" is what the app will use when you're connected to your home WiFi. This should be whatever local IP is assigned to the Apex.

The "WAN Host" (and WAN Port) is what the app will use when you are NOT connected on your home WiFi.

Wow... Sounds like the app could use a "Reachability" upgrade. Make it easy on the user and auto detect that kind of stuff!
It has and it will, minus the WAN parts of course.
