I am fairly new to apex and dont have a ups yet.... issue is my modem/router is on 2nd floor while tank and apex are on first- connected via a bridge. Is there a wayy to set it up to just shoot a text when power goes out. or maybe just get a ups set up that will work since they are far apart from each other?
If ups is needed, i would only need it to run apex and two powerheads for maybe 15 minutes or so (enough time to hook up generator) Any help would be appreciated as im not too familiar with codes etc.....:D

To get it to do what you want. All equipment that is needed to get a email out would have to be on a ups. This would be you Apex, the wifi bridge, your router and modem. This would sill only work if your internet service was still working. A power outage could also take down you internet service also if it is large enough. Since you have equipment in more than one place you would need more than one UPS to accomplish this. As far as the Apex programming to do this I cannot say. I don't have the Apex, but I would guess that it is possible to do this.

Adding to what n2585722 said above ^^^^
http://www.reeftronics.net/ offer a free service that will ping the apex base periodically. I forget every 10 mins or 1 hour....; They can send email or txt you when your apex base is not reachable by reeftronics. This just means the apex is not reachable from the out side. It does not mean your apex is dead or the power to your house/system is out sometimes. However, it is worth to look when they email or txt.
