I know I can't control the Reefmat with the Apex, but I can use the EB to turn off the power to the unit for a feeding mode.

The question is, should I? Does it matter? Will the Reefmat get confused by being rebooted every day?

Anyone else try to pair these two?

If by feeding mode you mean turning off your return pump and increasing the water level in your sump - yes, turning off the ReefMat at the same time will be fine. If you're able to keep it under 15min it shouldn't prompt an alert through the ReefBeat app.

Myself, regardless of feed mode - I just keep my ReefMat running (preferring instead to throttle down the pumps), Unless I'm taking the tank offline for maintenance - at which point I do power it off.

Yes, that's what I mean by feed mode. Do you ever have an issue with the Reefmat rebooting?

I may just leave it on while feeding (with the pumps off) as you do. Why tempt fate if there's really not much benefit to turning it off?

I have not (it's probably disconnected once or twice, but typically resolves itself on its own). I have my ReefMat hung off the side of the sump so when the return pump is off the flow just basically stops in short order.

There's no problem with turning off/on with the reefmat but I don't see why you would need to. I don't even turn it off or put it in maintenance when I do water changes ....my Reefmat just works no matter what I do.

Then it's settled. I'll just leave it on then. Thanks!
