I recently ordered a new Apex and when I opened it up, the caps that hold the storage fluid showed signs of leaking fluid and the probes were not fully submerged. Is this normal and will the probes be OK?

Mine came the same way. Ph probe failed early so I returned the whole thing. Went with DA. Neptune wouldn’t help.

That's just the fluid in the cap leaking slightly. The fluid in the cap is just to keep the probe wet while packaged. Those caps come off when you install the probes in your sump. It's completely normal and has no effect on the probe

I received mine the same way and was told the same thing 2 years ago. ph probe still working fine.

Agree

It's not leaking, it's salt creep. Happens all the time - no biggie!

Thanks for the info everyone. Good to know it won't be a problem.

One of mine was the same, can't say on longevity since I've only had the Apex for a week but everything seems to be good!
