Was so excited to set up my apex auto top off last night and learned a tough lesson. I think I know my issue but just want to confirm.
set everything up. Put the optical sensors right where I wanted them. Pump kicked on for a second and water level went right where I wanted it. Thennnnnn the sensors went off. I guess the siphon didn’t break and water continued to flow into my sump. And yes the water level is higher then the sump water level. And no I didn’t install the siphon break. Totally my fault. This is definitely the issue correct? And oh I will mention that I am running an rs-75 sump. Very small. I had to remove the mechanical float off the sensor bar.

Man that sucks. I hope you did not have a major spill. Last night I saw a YT video from Premium Aquatic on his setup of the ATK and he stressed the importance of the siphon break to prevent what just happened to you.

I'm looking to purchase the ATK during black Friday deals this year.

Nope I caught It quick. The sensor alerts saved me. I got lucky

The siphon break doesn’t have to be installed in a certain direction does it?

From the YT video I saw. You just want to make sure it is above the waterline and inside your sump or ato reservoir since it will shoot out water when the ATk turns on. One video I saw had the hole closest to the connector pointing down. Check out RBS video that Randy did or Neptune as well...very helpful seeing it done live.
