Hi,

I must have gotten 30 alarms this morning. see the picture below, it goes back and forth like this:

I have tried to reload the ATK using the tasks menu in apex to try and reconfigure it with no luck.

still showing I have an error with Swx7_2 closed.

The water level in my last chamber of my sump is NOT covering the higher optical sensor (switch2), but apex is acting like it’s covered?

The ATK has been working fine for the last 9 months without issue. Tried washing the sensor with tank water to clean it and still nothing?

What gives? Thanks!

Thanks, reading through your trouble shooting found the problem. My optical sensor for ATO_HI was configured as a water on floor sensor? It was set to auto detect and I’ve never had a problem.

Wonder why it would change all of a sudden?

Glad you found the issue.

It's possible the sensor may be failing. Did you manually switch it back to Optical, or did you disconnect & reconnect the plug for the FMM to detect it properly? If it's not being detected properly, I'd suspect a failing sensor.

Take a look at the optical sensor and make sure it doesn't look like there is moisture in it. I had one fail which Neptune quickly replaced

I first tried disconnecting it and then plugging it back in. Then looked at the sensor type and it said water on floor so I switched it manually to optical.

should I try to see if it auto detects again?

Sensor is only 9 months old. Don’t see why it should fail. I don’t see any moisture or water in it either.

Thanks

Yep, tried turning it back on to auto detect and got an instant alarm. It switched it back to water on floor which triggered the alarm.

So, does that mean the sensor is bad and I should contact Neptune?

Thanks

I'd highly recommend setting it to Auto to see if it's detected properly. Neptune Support told me that if an optical sensor fails but it's manually set as Optical in the FMM, it may incorrectly report as OPEN, allowing the pump to continue running. If it's set to Auto and it fails, it will revert to a Water on floor detector (like you experienced) and report CLOSED.

Neptune recently redesigned the optical sensors to improve reliability when they released the ATK v2.

Thanks. I guess the sensor is bad then. What you described happened exactly when i tried to switch it to auto.

I’ll have to call Neptune in the morning. I wish I could just get the ATK v2 to prevent this issue in the future. I bet they just give me a new sensor.

I'm assuming they will give you the new and improved sensor. It's an easy swap

Since it's only 9 months old, I bet they'll replace the sensor under warranty, and you'll probably get the new & improved v2 sensor.

I keep an extra optical sensor in my spare parts just in case.

Thanks for the help! I’ll have to get a replacement one to keep on hand too.
