I’m searching for a breakout box as my first apex accessory but having an issue finding one. So I go to Apex’s website to read up on it and I don’t even see it on there. Is it discontinued? Is there a good alternative?

Are you looking for the below?

A PM1 has 6 I do believe. If that's what you need I know this really cool dude with one for sale in the proper forum section. Lol

I prefer the breakout box made by Avast Marine because it uses push button stereo speaker style connectors, making it way easier to connect sensor wires than the Neptune screw connectors, in particular with the single screw for the common wire for all 6 ports. See https://avastmarine.com/products/digital-input-box

Just to be clear to the OP

The PM1 has one BNC port, for a ph probe or a orp probe.

You still have to buy the break out box separately.

Yeah I’m insanely new to the Apex (I got it yesterday) and this seems like a solid accessory that I would love to explore other possibilities with. Breakout box and WXM module are the first two things I want.

In addition to the BNC and temp probe socket, the PM1 module has a single DIN socket that you can use directly for one switch or with a separate breakout box that expands to six switches. As noted, avast makes a much better version of the breakout box.

The avast box has separate positive and negative terminals far better than trying to stuff 6 negative wires into one terminal. Plus if you are ok with soldering you can get their kit for under 30 bucks.

Currently BRS has them in stock 27 of them.

Also Marine Depot has them in stock.

Does anyone know the name of the connector used, for those who wish to build their own breakout box? (It did not come up under a search for din connector)

I think this is what you want:

Otherwise, you'll need to get a full cable with plugs on both ends and cut it in half. They're available on eBay.
