Apex Conductivity is at 40 in tank, need help

Hey, quick question. I just set up my Apex yesterday and calibrated my conductivity prob per the Apex website and also used the BRS TV guide. My probe read 34.9 after calibration.

I then placed the probe in my sump in an area without micro bubbles and I have a consistent 40-41 conductivity reading.

My temp probe is hooked up to base unit.

No bubbles near or on probe.

My calibrated refractometer (calibrated with correct solution) reads a SG of 1.024.

What's going on and does anyone have any suggestions?
 
I know I have to places I can connect the probe into the PM2 module which one do you have the probe plugged into. I apologize for the redundant question but I am just checking:)
 
How new is your Refractometer calibration fluid? I dont have an Apex but do use a conductivity probe and setup from another controller company. Does the Apex use temperature compensation? if so, you need to make sure your calibration solution and tank water are the same temp. or that your temp probe is also in the calibration solution while you calibrate the conductivity probe.

FWIW, I stopped buying calibration solutions and started to make it via Randy Holmes Farley's recipe. (dangit, I need to find that bookmark again)
 
Also, try placing some of your tank water in a coup or glass and put your probe in the cup or glass and see if the reading changes. If it does you may have stray electric current im the area where the probe is. The comductivity probes are sensitive to this.

I just purchased the refractometer calibration fluid about 2 months ago. Previously to calibrating, my refractometer was reading a lower salinity.

I also calibrated my solution along with temperature probe in my sump at same time.

Just checking, I have mine setup the same, temp in the main and salinity probe plugged into cond. @n2585722 never though of that.
 
Temp/conductivity probe plugged into same module. Use a cup with water to see if it makes a diffrence, no electrical interference. Otherwise just set the salinity in your system and calibrate it in sump. Don't use the numbers to control anything. I just for refrence.
